Rev Wear Fashion Show

This is the second year that I covered the Rev Wear Fashion Show, and I was really looking forward to it, as I had such a great time doing it last year.  The energy, creativity, and fun is infectious.  The consistent theme to these shows is to reduce the impact on our planet through creative recycling of raw materials as well as minimising the greenhouse impact by obtaining all items locally.  The response to this directive is sometimes whimsical, while others show quite viable daily fashion wear.

Last year I picked one of the models from the show to feature in Hamilton 365.  It was one of the most difficult tasks of the entire project to select just one image from so many great models.  This year the task is only slightly easier because I'm not holding myself back to showing just one image - but there are still lots more great images to see beyond the handful shown here.

I am hoping that the models and designers will come back to me with details so that I can add captions to each of the images.

If you missed today's show a Mac, you can still catch the evening show tomorrow at The Pearl Company, beginning at 8pm.Rev Wear Fashion ShowRev Wear Fashion ShowRev Wear Fashion ShowRev Wear Fashion ShowRev Wear Fashion ShowRev Wear Fashion ShowRev Wear Fashion Show

Revwear 2009 kicked ass! I am wearing my own hand knit hoody I made with hemp/wool blend yarn. I also made the buckskin hat, buckskin and all! It took me a very long time!

I love the idea of re-usable items to make outfits!
Can I do a Rev. Wear themed fashion show @ my school?

    Sorry, we have to ask.

Who?

Larry Strung is the photographer and author behind the Hamilton 365 project, completed on December 31st, 2008.  In that project, a different individual in Hamilton was photographed each day of the year, and on the very day they were shot they were presented to the project website.

If you wish to see the original project, it is still on line at http://hamilton365.com.

He lives on the street in Hamilton and sometimes other cities. His name is Tom Kelly (Tommy). If anyone has seen my brother or know his where abouts, I would be grateful for a reply.
