Patricia
Patricia is a Tutsi from Rwanda. She was 9 years old when the genocide of the Tutsi tribe at the hands of the ruling Hutu tribe took place - and she witnessed the killing of family and neighbors. That she survived the holocost was a miracle, but it wasn't the end of her suffering. In order to provide for herself she sucumbed to working as a prostitute on the streets of Kagali.
Found and rescued by a Canadian Christian non-profit group called Rose of Dignity, Patricia is now speaking in Canada not of her despair, but of hope and forgiveness between peoples. It's a remarkable story, and one that can be applied with positive effect to our own local circumstances.
