Mayday Festival

mayday 005As part of last weekend's Mayday Festival on King William Street, friends had arranged for me to get a couple of old picture frames to use as props.  With this weapon in hand, I approached people at the fair and asked them if they would mind holding my picture frame for me....

Isn't it interesting how a little prop can make such a big impact not only to the context of the image, but also to the willingness and mood of the subjects, too.   I had a lot of fun doing it.   You can see the full set on my Flickr page: http://www.flickr.com/photos/96471247@N00/sets/72157617662947221/

Who?

Larry Strung is the photographer and author behind the Hamilton 365 project, completed on December 31st, 2008.  In that project, a different individual in Hamilton was photographed each day of the year, and on the very day they were shot they were presented to the project website.
