Beyond Hamilton 365 – The Blog…

It’s been just on 3 weeks since my Hamilton 365 Project has been completed, and I’ve been feeling more than a little lost and lonely.  I haven’t been exactly idle, as I have started to investigate the process for displaying all 366 images at the AGH this fall – just how am I going to get all the images printed and mounted?  I’ve also started making the first steps towards publishing the project as a coffee table book.  But that hardly satisfies my itchy trigger finger, or matches the thrill of meeting new people in this city.

Part of the “corporate mandate” of my Strungfoto business is to be involved in a community-based project each year, so after such an intense project as Hamilton 365, I have decided this year to do a more interactive blog.  I’ll still post images on a regular basis, and they’ll all be Hamilton based.  There will be some dialogue, too.  The posts won’t be daily, but they will still be frequent.

Part of my thought process is to re-visit some of the people I’ve photographed already and perhaps follow them from time to time throughout the year.  It occurred to me, while completing Hamilton 365, that there are many stories here that deserve to be told in more detail.  Hopefully some of these people are going to be willing to have my camera poking deeper into their interesting lives.

Hopefully the quality of the content will be high enough to keep you coming back!

    Hi,
I was just wondering if there are actual prints of Hamilton365 being exhibited in Hamilton at this moment and if we can visit this exhibition.

    Thank you.

I wondered how long you could stay away from the trigger! The blog is a great idea....look forward to revisiting some of my favourite photos (of yours) and perhaps hearing more about the subjects. Wish you best of success.

What a thrill ride Ham365 was.

Took me 4 hours to view, but was well worth the time! I'm glad I waited until it was done, because having to wait for the next entry would have had me scratching my eyes out.

    Sorry, we have to ask.

Who?

Larry Strung is the photographer and author behind the Hamilton 365 project, completed on December 31st, 2008.  In that project, a different individual in Hamilton was photographed each day of the year, and on the very day they were shot they were presented to the project website.

I am looking for my brother that I have not seen in 25 years. I heard that your ay have taken a picture of hi or the news media ay have done an atricle on him. He lives on the street in Hamilton and sometimes other cities. His name is Tom Kelly (Tommy). If anyone has seen my brother or know his where abouts, I would be grateful for a reply.
